Advanced Diploma in Visual Effects

VFX & Compositing

Visual Effects (VFX) is the art of creating realistic or imaginative visuals that cannot be captured during live filming. In this course, you will learn how to blend real footage with computer-generated elements to create stunning scenes — from explosions, environments and fantasy worlds to clean-ups and realistic motion effects.

What the camera shot, and what the audience sees.

Drag the slider to wipe between the green-screen plate, with its tracking markers, and the finished composite.

Keying removes the green, tracking locks the new background to the camera, and compositing blends the two.

The diploma page shows this shot before and after. Here you can stop at every stage in between. The matte and the key are worked out from the real footage as it plays.

  1. Stage 011/3

    Prepare

The plate comes in from the edit and is tracked, so new elements can follow the camera.

  2. Stage 022/3

    Separate

A matte is pulled and the green is keyed out, leaving the performer on nothing.

  3. Stage 033/3

    Combine

A new background is composited in Nuke and matched until the two read as one photograph.

  • Yes. Films, OTT platforms, games, advertising, e-learning and social media all need animated content, and studios across India keep hiring skilled artists. A strong portfolio matters more than a degree.

  • No. Drawing helps, and we teach it from the basics, but many roles in 3D, VFX, editing and motion graphics depend more on timing, observation and practice than on sketching talent.
